For detail informations about this job opportunity please read the description below. VCU Health System's Cardiothoracic Surgery unit is recruiting for Unit Secretary. Cardiothoracic Surgery is a surgical telemetry unit providing intermediate and general care for cardiology, postoperative cardi! othoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, plastic surgery, and urology surgery patients. Specialty populations include postoperative coronary artery bypass graft patients and postoperative Thoracotomy patients. Care is provided by registered nurses and care partners. Telemetry monitoring is provided continuously by cardiac monitor technicians.
Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED required
Education/training PREFERRED: Medical Terminology
Level and type of experience REQUIRED: Demonstrates technological competency in the use of computer equipment and other office equipment. Communicates effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization. Excellent customer service skills, telephone skills and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates ability to prioritize work assignments effectively and efficiently within the scope of the employee’s responsibility. Basic computer keyboard and mouse skills.
