Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP A! vailable Shifts: Rotating Shift
Quaint Virginia hospital is currently seeking a qualified Hospitalist. The schedule will be 7 on/7 off, 12-hour shifts and no call. Responsibilities will include admitting, discharging and rounding on patients. Physician must be comfortable with ICU involvement and attending to all rapid response calls while on shift. Board-certification and VA license is required.
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the h! ospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing tre! atment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
Required Qualifications
Physician must be Board Certified and have a current license in Virginia. Required procedures include vent management
Preferred Qualifications
Intubations preferred.
