Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC).
RRMC, a Level II Trauma Center has been ranked as the top hospital on the
Peninsula
and # 2 in the Hampton Roads area by U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals ranking due to the skill and dedication of the physicians and team members shown to every patient. The Emergency Department responds to more than 57,000 emergencies providing lifesaving care 365 days a year. The facility specializes in Trauma, Cardiac and Stroke care and has 2 trauma surgeons on-call at all times as well as physicians to support our cardiac and! stroke programs. We also have on site helicopter pads and can! receive and transport patients
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients.
The RN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System.
The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. The RN is responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. The RN must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specific patient populations served in their assigned unit/dept. The RN works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordan! ce with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
BSN preferred. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged
LICENSURE:
Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of
Virginia
or compact state. Must have or obtain ACLS, PALS, and/or BLS per departmental requirements
EXPERIENCE:
Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required
Hours:
Part Time 12 hour rotating shifts
