Policy Analyst

The Policy Analsyt will support the OPTN Committees in their development, implementation, and post-implementation evaluation of national transplantation policies. Specifically, this role will help conceptua! lize and plan policy analyses; manage tasks within established policy development processes, interpret and report quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and assist with policy implementation and evaluation. Serve as staff liaison to one or more policy making committees, a group consisting of surgeons, physicians, organ procurement professionals, transplant candidates, recipients, living donors, and members of donor families.

Candidates for this role must have a four-year degree, Graduate degree in health policy, public policy, health care administration, public administration, political science, law, or related field preferred. Other qualities that top candidates will have include:

• Experience in health policy analysis/research and/or healthcare-related field
• Experience in quality improvement, process improvement, or patient safety
• Policy experience at the federal, state, or healthcare organization level
• Excellent in! terpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are requir! ed as the analyst and the analyst’s work will represent UNOS at Committee meetings, Board of Directors meetings, and other events as necessary.
• Quality writing skills are a must.
• Excellent project management skills are required and will be reflected in the analyst’s ability to organize time, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deliverables in a highly team-oriented culture.
• Computer proficiency is also required with a particular competency using Microsoft Office products

Some overnight travel is required.
