Description: (NAS) National Anesthesia Services, Inc is at the momment seeking for Anesthesiologist right now, this occupation will be placed in Virginia. Detailed specification about this occupation opportunity kindly read the description below. Normal working hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and there may be situations that may extend the normal working hours depending on the cases scheduled. T! he VAMC will pay for all hours actually worked. Contractor will be required to provide on-call coverage and a pager will be provided for those services by the VAMC.
Board Certification /Eligibility: The contract Cardiac Anesthesiologist shall be board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology
Technical Proficiency: Applicants must provide evidence of at least one full, active, current and unrestricted licensure, registration, certification, and/or other relevant credentials, for verification prior to appointment and throughout the employment process, as requested. They must agree to accept the professional obligations delineated in the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations provided to them. Applicants are required to updated Licensing, registration and certification and provide to agency as they are renewed. They are responsible for keeping the Department of Veterans Affairs appraised of anything that would adversely affect or o! therwise limit their clinical privileges.
Intubates a! nd protects the patientâs airway in an emergency or urgency. Initiates and assists in Advanced Cardiac Life Support if necessary, including defibrillation and cardio version. Checks and operates defibrillator. Restrains agitated patients when necessary. Recognizes and respects the altered needs of the elderly (age over 65 years old). Operates Anesthesiology Service Point of Care laboratory. Operates blood gas analyzer.
Miscellaneous duties: Follows Anesthesiology Service and medical center policies and procedures as they relate to daily practice. Supervises/directs anesthesia as it is provided by staff CRNAs or Residents. Recognizes and reports sentinel events to the Chief of Anesthesiology Service. Recognizes patientâs complaints and complications and documents them on the appropriate Quality Assurance form. Clinical research if appropriate. Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Chief of Anesthesiology. Attends Anesthesiology Service departmental meeti! ngs and participates in educational and Quality Assurance discussions.
