The CRNA, working closely with the Oral Maxillofacial Doctor, will care for patients undergoing oral surgery procedures including but not ! limited to the placement of implants, bone grafting, and sinus lifts. Position will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating anesthesia needs to ensure proper IV sedation and pain management. CRNA will also oversee patient recovery from anesthesia and care for patient’s immediate post-operative needs.
Duties:
Partners with Oral Maxillofacial Doctor to determine age-specific anesthesia plan and obtains approval for anesthesia plan from doctor prior to induction.
Communicates effectively with doctor to ensure course of anesthesia is adjusted based on the patient's need and changing condition throughout anesthetic episode.
Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism.
Conduct tests and verifying patient health information, and perform pre and post-anesthesia patient visits and document anesthesia notes on each patient record.
! Must have:
Graduate of an accredited school of nur! sing and accredited school of nurse anesthetists required.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia and Maryland required.
Current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification by the America Associate of Nurse Anesthetist (AANA).
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Physical Demands:
Required daily to walk the floor, sometimes for extended periods and be able to help wherever needed.
Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Able to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position.
Able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble very small objects.
Able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
Able! to bend, stretch, twist and/or reach with your body, arms and/or legs.
Must possess good multi-limb coordination â€" i.e. the ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting or standing.
Must possess good trunk strength â€" i.e. the ability to use abdominal or lower back muscles to support part of the body continuously or repeatedly over time without “giving out†or fatiguing.
Able to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information.
Good manual dexterity required to enable safe, skillful use of instruments while working in the mouth.
