Electronic Design Engineer

Are you passionate about aerospace technology? Do you like working in a multicultural and creative environment? Then Destinus is the right place for you!

We are an aerospace technology company with the vision of a world where distance does not exist. We are designing and building a fleet of near-space hypersonic vehicles and the associated infrastructures to support the world’s fastest transportation network. Our hypersonic aircraft defines a new class of fast.

Tasks

The Electronic Design Engineer will work within the embedded firmware/software team to design/manufacture and test custom PCBs. The custom PCBs with microcontrollers (STM32 and similar), SOCs (like the Zynq), power supplies and analog blocks orchestrate the complex sequencing of sensors, valves and actuators to control the propulsion and cryogenic fuel storage system for the aircraft.

Your Responsibilities

Work with the systems and software team to specify requirements for the hardware needed.

  • Derive block diagrams from said requirements and select suitable architectures and implementations to comply with the requirements.
  • Define electrical architecture, the component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, product management, manufacturing and test of the designed equipment,
  • Generate production data packages for PCB manufacturers
  • Define mechanical layouts and mounting means
  • Document connector interfaces and support harnessing teams with loom design
  • Collaborate with software, firmware teams for initial testing
  • Support integration and testing at the subsystem and system level
  • Support hardware through test, production, integration and flight.
Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Eng. in electrical engineering or similar proof record in electronics development
  • 3+ years of electronic product experience developing electrical hardware from concept through production
  • Work-experience with simulation software like Spice, Multisim or CircuitCity
  • Experience with electrical schematic capture software (Altium, Orcad or similar),
  • Experience with designing and testing digital electronics and/or mixed circuit boards from concept through production consisting of, but not limited to processors, FPGAs, AD and DA converters, and power supplies,
  • Experience with C, C++ or similar low-level language
  • Willingness to take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes,
  • Fluent in English as working language
Preferred skills & experience:
Understanding of inverters, power staged and/or motor controllers (HV),

  • Experience with designing and testing power electronics
  • Design experience with complex FPGA based systems,
  • Good understanding of embedded Linux and Yokto,
  • Understanding of DC/DC converter design for higher powers
  • Capable of designing high speed, impedance-controlled, multilayer boards (PCIE, USB and Ethernet)
  • Familiarity with environmental testing (DO160) of electronics equipment including thermal, shock, vibration and vacuum,
  • Experience with DO254
  • Fluent in VHDL or Verilog.
  • Fluent in German and or Spanish is beneficial
Benefits

  • Learning opportunities: Language courses
  • Lineal organization and flexible working hours
  • Company events
  • Relocation process package and the possibility to visit different working locations
  • Competitive salary
