The brand new 13 room Surgical Pavilion opened in January 2013. It is equipped with state of the art operating rooms with hand controls for equipment at the Circulating Desk and HD Video! Systems in all rooms. We conduct all surgical procedures with the exception of transplants. The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. The RN is responsible for supervising and ! delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ! ensure optimum patient care. The RN must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specific patient populations served in their assigned unit/dept. The RN works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
EDUCATION:
BSN preferred. CNOR encouraged.
LICENSURE:
Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have or obtain ACLS, PALS per departmental requirements. BLS Certification required.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required.
HOURS:
Labor Pool; Hours and Shifts will vary - primarily utilized on an "as needed" basis.
