Provides bas! ic technical clinical services and clerical support in the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, physician or mid-level practitioner. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served. Complies with all federal, state, and local agency requirements and standards; and Carilion and CMG policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Qualifications Required: Education: Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) required. Experience: One year experience in physician office preferred. Ambulatory experience strongly preferred. Orthopadic experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association! of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists or ! the American Registry of Medical Assistants must be obtained with in 90 days. May be hired on a AAMA provisional status once the applicant receives the letter that they have taken the test and have a provisional passing score. AHA BLS-HCP Certification required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective communication skills in order to work with the public.
Computer skills to utilize database systems to perform job duties required. Must be able to problem-solve. Keyboarding required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
