Our surgery teams utilize innovative procedures, n! ationally recognized quality protocols, and state of the art technology for minimally invasive and robotic surgeries to optimize outcomes in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Nominations are being received for the position of Vice President Surgical Services located in Roanoke, Virginia. The selected candidate will serve as a dyad partner with the Chair of the Department of Surgery and report directly to the SVP/COO.
Position responsibilities encompass the broad continuum of surgical services at Carilion Clinic and include 25 general and trauma ORs. Within the scope of responsibility are the surgical practices within the Department of Surgery, ambulatory surgery operation, trauma, and the quality function within the Department of Surgery. The Vice President Surgical Services will foster collaborative and strategic partnerships with the Medical Director of Operating Room services and the Medical Director of Anesthesia Services, and will also partner with c! ommunity hospital leadership, vendors, contract staff, and the! Senior Director of Cardiovascular Surgery who has responsibility for 7 cardiovascular operating rooms including a hybrid operating room.
Qualifications
Qualifications include ten plus years of progressively responsible leadership experience with a masters degree in healthcare, business or related discipline required. Proven results and demonstrated leadership ability to ensure optimal service delivery and skilled staffing within a dynamic, time sensitive, quality oriented environment for a large, complex area of responsibility. Consistently demonstrate proficiency in situational and change leadership, developing and achieving strategies that provide optimal patient flow and processes, and effective fiscal management for long term economic value, resource utilization and efficiency planning.
Additional qualifications include superior interpersonal qualities with an ability to articulate a vision and influence others in the support of broad objecti! ves and accomplishment of strategic aims. Quickly establish credibility, role model collegiality and respect, and maintain ongoing trusting relationships with physicians, leaders, staff and strategic partners. Excellent communication, mentor, facilitation, multi-disciplinary team building and conflict resolution skills required.
