Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/10/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Full Time Psychiatrist ! is needed in Virginia for an opportunity to begin in June. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p, no weekends and no call. The psychiatrist will see adult patients, perform evaluations, consults and medication management. The site utilizes EMRs and is willing to train. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.

- Active Virginia license
- Comfortable working as a team within an inpatient facility.
