Facility in Virginia seeking Cardiothoracic Surgeon for ongoing weekend and vacation 24 hour call coverage. Patient load varies. DEA required.
Specializing in surgical procedures that target the heart and the blood vessels of the chest, cardiothoracic surgeons(locum tenens) have one of the most demanding and exacting jobs in medicine. Surgeries performed by these surgeons include insertion of a pacemaker, the bypassing of blocked coronary arteries and treatment of aortic aneurysm. Cardiothoracic surgeons also frequently oversee the administration of anesthesia during open heart surgery.
