Riverside Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Center is looking for a full time Surgical Coordinator. The Surgical Coordinator will work at Riverside Medical & Surgical Weight Loss Cen! ter (WLC) under the direction of the Practice Manager and Physician Practice Director. Works with bariatric patients with a specific focus on surgical weight loss, collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to guide and assist the patients/families through the bariatric care continuum. Ensures completion of preoperative requirements and surgical scheduling. Also, responsible for being sure patient is aware of financial obligations prior to surgery. Takes part in preoperative information sessions and post operative support groups. Able to respond to clinically related phone calls and questions from pre- and post-surgical patients and triage appropriately. Responsible for navigating patients through the insurance authorization requirements for weight loss surgery and works directly with insurance companies to obtain authorizations. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: Medical Offic! e Experience required. A minimum of one year experience in a d! octor's office setting as a scheduler preferred.
HOURS: Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm
