The McGuire VA Medical Center of Richmond, situated in the heart of Virginia along t! he I-85 corridor, is looking for a BC or BE General Surgeon to become part of a team that will bring a hospitalist model to the inpatient surgery unit.

In our new hospitalist model our surgeons will teach medical students and residents, see patients in clinic, care for surgical inpatients (including surgical specialty patients), provide surgical consultation to patients in the ED or any other inpatient service, provide procedures as appropriate, and to provide training at beside or in the Operating Room. Our GS Hospitalists rotate shifts to provide 24-7 in house coverage; the schedule will consists of days with rotating nights and weekends. We have a total of 32 beds with an average daily census of 30.8.
