LewisGale Medical Center (LGMC) is a 521 bed me! dical center that serves as the hub of HCA Virginia Health System in Southwest Virginia. The medical center has provided state-of-the-art medical care for residents of the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia for more than 100 years . In addition to three sister facilities, we are now an integrated-delivery health system that also includes several outpatient centers, two cancer centers, and hundreds of physicians who partner with us through various affiliation models. Our family of HCA Hospitals in Southwest Virginia has recently become the first and only health system in the region to have fully accredited Chest Pain Centers at all of its hospitals. Additionally, LGMC is ranked in the top 10% nationwide for quality heart attack and heart failure care, pneumonia care, and surgical care-infection prevention. Assistant V! ice President of Finance
The AVP of Finance directs t! he fiscal department in accordance with defined hospital and corporate HCA policies. The responsibilities of the AVP of Finance include, but are not limited to:
Assists with the overall financial operations of the hospital including accounting, budgetary, audits, tax, compliance and other financial planning activities within the hospital. Provides financial leadership to hospital managers and directors. Assists the CFO to ensure the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements. Assists the CFO in contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources for profitable revenue. Conducts business line analysis and provide business line leaders with cost and revenue metrics. Prepares monthly variance explanations and monthly operating review reports. Directs the preparation of hospital statistical reports, budgets and financial reports. Administers the general accounting, data processing, revenue int! egrity and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures. Monitors performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled. Ensures SOX compliance. Coordinates annual tax and cost report workpaper preparation. Coordinates charging structure for new services. Assists Chief Staffing Officer with daily productivity management. Coordinates annual VHI filing. Assists with annual business plan and strategic planning process. Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, CPA preferred. Knowledge of financial management, analysis, principles and techniques and managerial skills. Strong analytical and data retrieval skills required. Prefer 5 years healthcare finance and managerial experience.
