Responsibilities
Capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process.
Other Information
5 West is a 26 bed unit that primarily serves 4 surgical services. Those services include Transplant, Pancreatic Oncology Surgery, Urology, and General Surgery. An ! interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, car! e coordinators, nurses, social workers, occupational therapy, physical therapy, pharmacists, nutritionist, and chaplaincy work together to assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care to meet identified health care goals.
Of the 26 beds, six of them are considered Surgical Intermediate Care Beds (SIMU) and are monitor capable. The patients that are served in these beds are surgical patients who are more acute than floor level patients, but are not in need of critical care services. Most often these patients require increased O2 monitoring, or have nursing interventions that require a lower nurse to patient ratio.

Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia Employment in this job is conditioned upon satisfactory completion of a drug test. BLS certification required.
