The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a Laboratory Specialist Jr. This position contributes to Transplant Research Lab projects and collaborations by performing a variety of assays and techniques of moderate difficulty.
Techniques include but are not limited to: Elisa assays, immunohistochemistry, cell culture and microscopy. The incumbent also conducts research using the mouse model, orders supplies and maintains inventory for the lab.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of following procedures and taking notes.
Knowledge of cell culture techniques.
Ability to read a procedure and perform the work.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Required Experience:
Some - up to 4 years
Kind of Required Experience:
A minimum of one year laboratory experience required. Experience obtained as a student will be considered.
Required Degree/Training:
Biology, Chemistry, cell biology or related field
Required License or Certification:
Required Computer Applications:
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with small animal research.

Considerable - 4 to 7 years
