Due to growth in our patient volumes, we have reorganized our ICU's to best meet the needs of our community as well as our healthcare providers, creating not only efficient and effective units for optimal patient care, but also opportunities for leadership growth that includes management positions as well as nursing education. Our newest unit, the Cardiac Care Unit, has been opened to address all of these needs. The Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) is currently a 14-bed unit located in the Tower at RRMC. This unit will transition to an 18-bed unit in the new construction of our Pavilion Expansion--targeted for completion in Summer of 2018. Nurses in our CCU care for patients who have had STEMI's, atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation ablations, PCTI, vascular surgery such as CEA and fem-pop by-basses, etc. We pride ourselves on exceptional teamwork, strong communication skills, providing excellent patient care, and service excellence. The intensity of service and severity of illness addressed by our team extends from intermediate to intensive care, and through close collaboration with our physician partners, our nurses develop a broad skill set and impressive depth of knowledge.
EDUCATION: BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years of the start date in the position. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
LICENSURE: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have or obtain ACLS and/or PALS per departmental requirements. BLS is required.
EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required.
