Completes abstracting on all cancer patients and enters data into Cancer Registry computer system according to American College of Surg! eons Standards.
Prepares abstracts to State of Virginia and NCBD as required.
Prepares and maintains information for ongoing accreditation by American College of Surgeons (ACoS).
Attends Cancer Registry Continuing Education Program according to the ACoS survey guidelines.
Assists Cancer Registry Manager with tumor board coordination and planning.
Seeks opportunities to improve professional skills and departmental operations.
Assists with other Cancer Center duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Required - Minimum of 3-5 years previous registry experience. Strong customer service, medical records, coding, computer/data entry, meeting minutes and case review skills.
Preferred - Minimum of one year (1) of previous Cancer Registry experience and medical office experience.
EDUCATION:
Required â€" Must be willing to become CTR certified upon 18 months of hire. !
Preferred - CTR certification and medical office expe! rience.
